Micorosft Edge will only work on Lutris, as long had DXVK enabled and a Wine version capable to support Vulkan Child Window Rendering, such as Lutris Wine 5.0. Since the Lutris option was the only working option, I left the section in blank. Once filled the necessary information, change to Lutris Wine 5.0 (Some modded versions such as Monster World are also fine) and activate the DXVK render, as long the modified Wine supports child window Vulkna rendering (the Lutris Wine 5.0 are one of such examples). Without using additional software components, the Edge browser are barely usable, and it 9 over 10 tries it result a blank rendering screen, that can be bypassed using Alt+Tab tricks.īut the overall performance are not great either.Īn easy fix is to pass the new WINEPREFIX created with plain Wine and add manually to Lutris. Using some tricks it may open the broswer but the performance are terrible without using modified WIne versions, that I will cover on Extra Comments section. It also required to kill all processes once made the installation. Using Windows 10 mode, the installer will warn the user to update the lastest updates for Windows 10, which may indicate that Windows 10 profile on Wine needs to be updated.
The browser installs fine if you select a clean new WINEPREFIX, and selects the Windows 7 compatibility mode on winecfg.
